Randomness Rules!

K-so I think I already told most of you this but I still think it was/is way wierd. I ran into Suz Lopez from Coastal on campus last week. It just completely threw me because I had no idea she was here...although Katie and Caitlin did...but Katie apparently didn't know where I was :)

School is going well...crazy but well. I officially have an advisor...but he is trying to decide how many deficiency courses he wants me to take...but apparently I'm supposed to have my idea for my thesis and I don't know yet...oh well

Anyway...short update...sorry for the lack. Nothing interesting is going on in my life...as always :)

"I'm Confused"

For the record...not the comment any girl wants to hear while in the midst of making out with a boy.

Boys are goobers and really more emotionally wierd than girls any day of the week. Not every girl is looking for a serious relationship...especially after 1 date and there is no use freaking yourself out about something that you've built up in your head. I repeat...boys are goobers and not worth the energy 9 times out of 10.

Anyway...I'm still adjusting to being in school again...and the procrastination is already in full effect. I have to have an abstract to turn in on Friday and I don't even have my title cemented...much less all of my research done...so an abstract is a bit of a pain in the ass at this point. I'm enjoying the classes that I'm teaching and my other classes are going well.

Entertaining story about my prof that reminds me of a mix of Harris, Wright and Koepfler...
We were talking about the quarry where we are going to do our research for our paper and I know that I look blank because I have no idea where anything is in Florida and he looks at me and says..."It's about he distance from London to Glasgow" (those might not be the cities he said...but you get the point)....and I continue to look blank...and one of the other 5 people in the class who I teach with turns around and looks at me funny. I really have no idea what the hell he is talking about so I just kind of smile. He then says.."You have no idea how far that is do you?" and I say no...and then he proceeds to say "Aren't you from England?" I start laughing...and so do the two guys that know me in the class. So he asks me where I'm from and I say WV and then he's like "Wow...your accent is very elegant" So in any case...all 6 of us and then the prof are cracking up and I just thought it was really funny.

Sorry for the lack of updates...I'll try to do better

Grad School is for Winners....

or for Crazies!!!

So I started school on Monday. Woo-hoo!

As a result...I think it is fitting for me to change my title and address. I'll change the address later when I have more time.

My schedule is entertaining if nothing else. I'm taking 9 grad credits and 3 undergrad credits (They are treating them as deficiency courses and there are 3 classes I have to take...funny thing is one of them is pretty much MSCI 112-same book and everything-oh well reaaaaaaaaallly easy A-tests are multiple choice) and I'm teaching 3 intro geology labs.

Monday's I'm pretty much at school from 10 am to 10 pm with classes, lab, and office hours.
Tuesdays and Thursdays I only have one class in the afternoon so it's not bad.
Wednesday, I teach and then office hours then class
Friday, I teach then class

Fun stuff trying to get back into the swing of things.

But as a tribute to the sciences back at Coastal...I thought I would leave some quotes from my professors on the first day of class. (I know D won't care...but they are funny to me!)

"It got cooler and came up and hung out with the sun" (talking about deep sea creatures)

"The echinoderms never got their act together"

"When you are eating mushrooms, you are eating fried moldy sexual organs"

"Best pickup line ever guys, (to all 2 guys in the class) I guarantee you. Hey baby, are you a diachronous thanatocoenosis? Yeah...that's why I was 33 when I got married"

"Glaciers do not expand on the ocean-the get seasick!"

Anyway...that is my extent of the first week of grad school :)

The great weight

Just thought I'd update on the whole weight loss thing...I kinda stopped all forms of dieting in the beginning of June because it just wasn't worth it to keep track and get depressed with the end of the school year thing. The last time I recorded my weight was on June 11..and I'd gained 3 pounds...but I lost it again.

Since I started the weight watchers thing at the end of march...I've lost 35-36 pounds. Since I started losing weight after I hit my heaviest...56-57. (January of 2005)

I'm getting there. (I'm at college weight right now)

And I'm starting back on it....I need to lose weight before Cait's wedding of course!!

I suck

Okay-so I know I havent updated since I got my tattoo but in my defense I haven't really been on the computer too much except to check my email and stuff.
Anyways-I am finally down in Florida...I got here and got everything unloaded on Thursday and pretty much just bummed around. I went and bought a desk and some essentials yesterday but I am still bedless and dresserless and bookshelveless....ah such is life. I am currently sleeping on blankets on the floor because me and the air mattress just do not get along.

I don't really have internet connection but I jumped onto somebody's wireless which is the only reason I can even use it. They have dial up here....and no cable...I'm starting a campaign to get cable and internet...we'll see how it goes.

Had a date last and I got to hit the beach....yay!!!

K...enough rambling...I will update more later

Me and Krista in Jewel Cave (South Dakota)

Not that you can tell we are in a cave

Krista and me at Mt. Rushmore

Mountain Momma

Yeah...I'm a slacker.

Me at Mt. Spokane

I got back to WV on the night of the 29th. It was a fun trip...we saw Battle of Little Bighorn, Jewel Cave, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Bear Country....and many a beautiful boy. Krista and I started keeping track :) There was some confusion that resulted in me almost having to drive to Seattle to get Krista but it all worked itself out in the end...she just got to Spokane later than she was supposed to.

I drove down to Florida on the 6th and came back the 8th...sooo sick of driving but I added my class...filled out my hiring paperwork and found a place to live so all in all it was a successful trip. I'm going to stay here in WV with K and J for a few more weeks then I'm going to take a load down and then come back up here for my birthday and then go back down after that. Anyone wanna take a road trip with me? 3 days? come on...you know you wanna do it!

Oh well....I'm going to post some pics and then take a shower. Later gaters!
